Perinox, S.A., in its ongoing commitment to technological innovation in the design and development of its products, has obtained a positive resolution for the project submitted under the Castilla-La Mancha Business Innovation Support Program 2015, titled “Portable equipment for the development of R&D&I activities in new dairy products.”
The objective of this project is the design and manufacture of a compact and portable unit that brings together the most advanced technologies in the global dairy sector: Tangential Membrane Filtration systems (Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration, and Reverse Osmosis) and Microparticulation.
Through this business innovation project, the following main objectives are pursued:
- To design a compact and portable unit that integrates the most advanced technologies in the global dairy sector, including Tangential Membrane Filtration systems (Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration, Nanofiltration, and Reverse Osmosis) and Microparticulation.
- To define the achievable concentration limits for each filtration technology depending on the different applications to be developed, using diafiltration or not, and varying key theoretical parameters such as temperature and transmembrane pressure.
- To develop a new small-scale laboratory microparticulation system based on current industrial-level technological knowledge, as well as on the company’s and its collaborators’ experience in whey treatment, scalable to different flow rates accessible to companies of various sizes and to both private and public research centers.
- To characterize and ensure the production of suitable microparticles for fat replacement, which is their most common application.
- To patent the resulting development.
- To create, through collaboration with public or private research centers, relationships of mutual interest and benefit based on the pilot equipment.
